Edit expenses after payment

I'd like to be able to edit expense information after a payment has been made (such as adding an attachment or editing the description) once a payment has been made. From what I can tell, making changes requires deleting the payment, making the edits, then resubmitting the payment. I'd prefer to be able to edit it without needing to do this.
