In todays most recent update to Tidy, we're rolling out a few sets of improvements to the platform on top of the work already rolled out earlier this week:
  • We've been on a fervent bug hunt πŸ›, and this involved a bunch of minor fixes to edge cases cropped up. As always, if you come across an issue you're not sure about, get in touch with support.
  • As part of this, we extended emoji in the app to support it in more places, including notes and nick names, and a few other places like events. It's only a subset of emoji for now, but we'll be adding comprehensive support across the platform in the coming time.
And on the feature front...
Finally, we've rolled out a new feature to celebrate friday, a new permission option for memberships:
Membership Visibility Levels
This allows you to have private-but-linkable memberships, perfect for situations where you want to offer a subset of people the ability to sign up for memberships without having to expose it to everyone. This can be used for everything from allowing self-service signup to restricted members, to allowing better integration into external tools.

Platform Performance Updates 🏎

We're currently working away at increasing the speed of Tidy across the board, and have started to release the first series of changes to this end ⚑️
In the last few days, we've pushed out changes which should:
  • Make anything using the contacts page faster, especially in situations where you're an enterprise customer with contacts shared between organisations.
  • Rolled out performance improvements to the autocomplete when sending emails / SMS and in other places.
This is just the first round of updates - more will be coming in the next few weeks, as we work on improving it across the board. πŸ™‡β€β™‚οΈ
Whilst all has been quiet on the Tidy changelog front, a lot has been happening behind the scenes in the last two months in Tidy land, and we've heard from you all - we wanted to give an update as to where everything is at, and what we've been working on.
A large focus on the last few weeks has been improving the platform - there have been a swathe of work behind scenes intent on improving your experience with Tidy, even if not directly visible to most users.
To that end, we thought we'd call out some of the bugs we've recently shipped a fix:
  1. New integrations work and improvements
    - We've been hard at work pushing out improvements to how we make tidy work with other systems, including pilot projects with some big australian sports organisations, with the goal to make it easier long term for us to pull in data from any other tool you're using - and show it along side your details in Tidy.
  2. Xero is in testing
    - We've started rolling out test access to our new Xero integration to a limited number of clubs, and will be actively working on improving that in the coming weeks before rolling it our more widely. If you're interested in trying it out for your club, message us in your intercom chat window and we'll get you access! We'd love to hear from clubs, big and small, about how it fits into their workflow.
  3. Fixes to meetings
    - We've been working on a few long-outstanding fixes to our Meetings experience, namely around making formatting work across entries and more. We want to make Meetings as smooth as possible and as easy for you to track everything that's happening.
  4. API v2
    - For our tech heads out there, we've just started rolling out a testing version of our new V2 API to customers (again, hit us up via Intercom if you'd be interested in testing). This not only brings a lot of tidy up and improvements to our API, it adds new API endpoints to allow better management and control over how you use Tidy, and the ability to customise your own Tidy experience in ways not possible before.
  5. Ongoing reliability and performance work
    - The reliability and performance of Tidy is our utmost priority, and we've been chipping away bit by bit to make Tidy work better for everyone. We've started releasing the first sets of this work, and have some big improvements planned to come in the next year.
  6. Updates to the frontend experience, and bug fixes
    - We've been working on a whole bunch of little bug fixes around the place where there were inconsistencies and issues with the front end experience. We've just rolled out a fix for incorrect tax changes affecting invoice as well as a bug affecting drag and drop / reordering in multiple places.
We'll have more news on bug fixes and more feature work in the coming weeks, but suffice to say - lots of exciting stuff is happening behind the scenes at Tidy at the moment.

New Community Pages

We provide community pages for our enterprise customers and we are rolling out a great improvement to make them better, faster, stronger and easier to update.
If you're an enterprise customer please get in touch to find out more.
Community Pages Example
We've been hard at work to improve the experience for your members when it comes to renewing their current memberships, making it more obvious when they need to renew versus registering a new membership.
2021-11-03 09-43-24
From today, your members will find it easier than ever to:
  • Find renewable memberships in their public profile - Memberships that are valid for renewal rise to the top so it's easier to find
  • We now make it clearer when you're creating a new membership, to help cut down on the number of admin inquiries you receive with people registering a new membership instead of renewing.
  • Allowed auto-renewing memberships to renew their membership earlier, giving them more control over when whilst still maintaining their original expiry date.
Tidy now handles in progress meetings better. Historically, once a meeting had started, even if it was underway, it'd move off the 'upcoming' page and into your 'past meetings' page.
Underway Meetings in TidyHQ
Now, Tidy will show in progress meetings on both pages, and call them out at the very top - making it easier than ever for attendees to review meeting details as it's live.
We've made it easier and more reliable than ever to view (all) memberships associated with a given contact.
Previously, you'd only get a link to the report when there were no active memberships. Now, not only have we made this link always visible, we've also improved it to use the specific contact, rather than anyone with their name.
2021-07-30 11-20-05
For our customers with hidden variations enabled, we've just launched the ability for you to hide past variations from new users.
Once variation has been used for existing memberships, we no longer allow you delete it (so you have the history of it) - but with his new feature, you can "hide" it, allowing only renewals and admins to access it.
